What is Emotional Freedom Technique?

I came across EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) six years ago and started using it when I found myself feeling strong emotions about various things from personal issues to the many injustices that we see in the world. So often our feelings get stuck with nowhere to go; and this, of course, means stuck in our systems, whether it is emotional blocks, mental exhaustion or physically held in the muscles and soft tissue, it all has an electrical component. This simple technique of tapping on meridian lines (energy pathways in and around the body), personally proved so helpful (and kind of miraculous), so I decided to embark on the first level of training in London.. www.eft-courses.co.uk and the fantastic husband and wife team of Peter and Tamara Donn. The subsequent journey through to becoming an                EFT International qualified practitioner has been rich and very rewarding.

EFT has been featured very positively on the BBC television program about Harley Street. The more I work with people using this technique the more enthusiastic and passionate I feel about it. The implications are huge and at present is starting to be used for PTSD, in schools, hospitals, and areas of conflict and trauma. Every aspect of our lives and our world could benefit from this technique. I truly believe that within the next decade it will be perfectly normal for people to be using this Tapping Technique as part of not just coping but empowering their lives.

Happy head space

EFT involves gently tapping on various points on the body, mainly on the face, head and upper torso. This helps clear emotional blocks from your body’s bio-energy system. The therapy is non-invasive and can very quickly negate the emotional charge that trauma often leaves imprinted on our energy field. When our energy system is flowing optimally we have a sense of well-being and find joy in our lives.

You may find that your practitioner taps on your body for you, or may invite you to follow their lead and tap on yourself.

Often just one or two sessions can be extremely transformative, other issues may require further sessions.
